Chapter 11

1

During the days of Com, many prophets came and warned that this great people would be destroyed unless they repented, turned to the Lord, and stopped their murders and wickedness.

And there came also in the days of Com many prophets, and prophesied of the destruction of that great people except they should repent, and turn unto the Lord, and forsake their murders and wickedness.

The prophets were rejected by the people, so they fled to Com for protection because the people wanted to destroy them.

And it came to pass that the prophets were rejected by the people, and they fled unto Com for protection, for the people sought to destroy them.

They prophesied many things to Com, and he was blessed for the rest of his days.

And they prophesied unto Com many things; and he was blessed in all the remainder of his days.

He lived to a good old age and had a son named Shiblom, who became king after him. Shiblom’s brother rebelled against him, and a very great war began throughout the land.

And he lived to a good old age, and begat Shiblom; and Shiblom reigned in his stead. And the brother of Shiblom rebelled against him, and there began to be an exceedingly great war in all the land.

The brother of Shiblom ordered that all the prophets who spoke about the destruction of the people be put to death.

And it came to pass that the brother of Shiblom caused that all the prophets who prophesied of the destruction of the people should be put to death;

There was great calamity throughout the land, because they had warned that a great curse would come upon the land and the people, and that there would be a destruction among them like never before on the earth, and their bones would become like piles of dirt on the land unless they repented of their wickedness.

And there was great calamity in all the land, for they had testified that a great curse should come upon the land, and also upon the people, and that there should be a great destruction among them, such an one as never had been upon the face of the earth, and their bones should become as heaps of earth upon the face of the land except they should repent of their wickedness.

They did not listen to the voice of the Lord because of their wicked combinations. As a result, wars and conflicts broke out throughout the land, along with many famines and diseases, causing such great destruction as had never been known on the earth. All of this happened during the days of Shiblom.

And they hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord, because of their wicked combinations; wherefore, there began to be wars and contentions in all the land, and also many famines and pestilences, insomuch that there was a great destruction, such an one as never had been known upon the face of the earth; and all this came to pass in the days of Shiblom.

The people began to repent of their sins, and as they did, the Lord had mercy on them.

And the people began to repent of their iniquity; and inasmuch as they did the Lord did have mercy on them.

Shiblom was killed, and Seth was taken captive and lived in captivity for the rest of his life.

And it came to pass that Shiblom was slain, and Seth was brought into captivity, and did dwell in captivity all his days.

Ahah, his son, took over the kingdom and ruled the people for the rest of his life. During his reign, he committed all kinds of wickedness, causing much bloodshed, and his days were few.

And it came to pass that Ahah, his son, did obtain the kingdom; and he did reign over the people all his days. And he did do all manner of iniquity in his days, by which he did cause the shedding of much blood; and few were his days.

Ethem, who was a descendant of Ahah, took control of the kingdom, and he also did evil during his lifetime.

During the days of Ethem, many prophets came and prophesied to the people, warning that the Lord would completely destroy them from the face of the earth unless they repented of their sins.

And it came to pass that in the days of Ethem there came many prophets, and prophesied again unto the people; yea, they did prophesy that the Lord would utterly destroy them from off the face of the earth except they repented of their iniquities.

The people hardened their hearts and refused to listen to their words, and the prophets mourned and withdrew from among the people.

And it came to pass that the people hardened their hearts, and would not hearken unto their words; and the prophets mourned and withdrew from among the people.

Ethem ruled wickedly all his days and had a son named Moron. Afterward, Moron became king in his place, and Moron did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

And it came to pass that Ethem did execute judgment in wickedness all his days; and he begat Moron. And it came to pass that Moron did reign in his stead; and Moron did that which was wicked before the Lord.

A rebellion started among the people because of the secret combination that was formed to gain power and wealth. A powerful and wicked man rose up and fought against Moron, overthrowing half of the kingdom. He held onto that half of the kingdom for many years.

And it came to pass that there arose a rebellion among the people, because of that secret combination which was built up to get power and gain; and there arose a mighty man among them in iniquity, and gave battle unto Moron, in which he did overthrow the half of the kingdom; and he did maintain the half of the kingdom for many years.

Moron overthrew him and regained the kingdom.

Another mighty man arose, and he was a descendant of the brother of Jared.

He overthrew Moron and took control of the kingdom. Moron lived in captivity for the rest of his life, and he had a son named Coriantor.

During the days of Coriantor, many prophets came and spoke of great and marvelous things. They called the people to repent, warning that if they did not repent, the Lord God would judge them and completely destroy them.

And that the Lord God would send or bring another people to possess the land by his power, in the same way he brought their ancestors.

They rejected all the words of the prophets because of their secret society and wicked abominations.
