Chapter 15

1

When Jesus finished speaking, he looked around at the crowd and said to them, "You have heard the things I taught before I ascended to my Father. Whoever remembers these teachings of mine and follows them, I will raise up at the last day.

And now it came to pass that when Jesus had ended these sayings he cast his eyes round about on the multitude, and said unto them: Behold, ye have heard the things which I taught before I ascended to my Father; therefore, whoso remembereth these sayings of mine and doeth them, him will I raise up at the last day.

When Jesus had said these words, he noticed that some of them were amazed and wondered what he meant about the law of Moses, because they didn’t understand that old things had passed away and everything had become new.

And it came to pass that when Jesus had said these words he perceived that there were some among them who marveled, and wondered what he would concerning the law of Moses; for they understood not the saying that old things had passed away, and that all things had become new.

He said to them, “Don’t be surprised that I told you old things have passed away and everything has become new. ”

And he said unto them: Marvel not that I said unto you that old things had passed away, and that all things had become new.

I tell you that the law given to Moses is fulfilled.

Behold, I say unto you that the law is fulfilled that was given unto Moses.

I am the one who gave the law, and I am the one who made a covenant with my people Israel. The law is fulfilled in me, because I have come to fulfill the law, so it has come to an end.

Behold, I am he that gave the law, and I am he who covenanted with my people Israel; therefore, the law in me is fulfilled, for I have come to fulfil the law; therefore it hath an end.

I do not destroy the prophets, because everything that has not yet been fulfilled in me will all be fulfilled.

Behold, I do not destroy the prophets, for as many as have not been fulfilled in me, verily I say unto you, shall all be fulfilled.

Because I told you that old things have passed away, I am not destroying what has been spoken about things that are still to come.

And because I said unto you that old things have passed away, I do not destroy that which hath been spoken concerning things which are to come.

The covenant I made with my people isn’t completely fulfilled yet, but the law given to Moses has ended in me.

For behold, the covenant which I have made with my people is not all fulfilled; but the law which was given unto Moses hath an end in me.

I am the law and the light. Look to me and endure to the end, and you will live; for I will give eternal life to those who endure to the end.

Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life.

I have given you the commandments; so keep my commandments. This is the law and the prophets, for they truly testified of me.

After Jesus finished speaking, he said to the twelve he had chosen:

And now it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he said unto those twelve whom he had chosen:

You are my disciples, and you are a light to this people, who are a remnant of the house of Joseph.

Ye are my disciples; and ye are a light unto this people, who are a remnant of the house of Joseph.

This is the land of your inheritance, and the Father has given it to you.

And behold, this is the land of your inheritance; and the Father hath given it unto you.

And the Father has never given me a command to tell your brothers at Jerusalem about this.

And not at any time hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell it unto your brethren at Jerusalem.

At no time has the Father commanded me to tell them about the other tribes of the house of Israel, whom the Father has led away from the land.

Neither at any time hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell unto them concerning the other tribes of the house of Israel, whom the Father hath led away out of the land.

The Father commanded me to tell them this:

This much did the Father command me, that I should tell unto them:

I have other sheep that are not part of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. There will be one fold and one shepherd.

That other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Because they were stubborn and didn’t believe, they didn’t understand my words. That’s why I was commanded not to say anything more to them about the Father regarding this matter.

And now, because of stiffneckedness and unbelief they understood not my word; therefore I was commanded to say no more of the Father concerning this thing unto them.

I tell you the truth, the Father has commanded me, and I am telling you that you were separated from them because of their sin; it is because of their sin that they do not know about you.

But, verily, I say unto you that the Father hath commanded me, and I tell it unto you, that ye were separated from among them because of their iniquity; therefore it is because of their iniquity that they know not of you.

I tell you again, the Father has separated the other tribes from them, and because of their sin, they do not know about them.

And verily, I say unto you again that the other tribes hath the Father separated from them; and it is because of their iniquity that they know not of them.

I truly tell you, you are the ones I spoke of when I said: I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one fold and one shepherd.

They didn’t understand me, because they thought I was talking about the Gentiles. They didn’t realize that the Gentiles would be converted through their preaching.

And they understood me not, for they supposed it had been the Gentiles; for they understood not that the Gentiles should be converted through their preaching.

They didn’t understand when I said they would hear my voice; and they didn’t understand that the Gentiles would never hear my voice directly—that I would not show myself to them except through the Holy Ghost.

And they understood me not that I said they shall hear my voice; and they understood me not that the Gentiles should not at any time hear my voice—that I should not manifest myself unto them save it were by the Holy Ghost.

You have both heard my voice and seen me; you are my sheep, and you are numbered among those whom the Father has given me.
